Job Summary

The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church who reflects the character of Christ privately and publicly. He is to proclaim the gospel, teach the Bible, and wholeheartedly serve the Lord. The pastor should be able to clearly communicate God’s vision for the short and long-term future of Hamlin. He is to engage in pastoral care and provide leadership to both paid staff and volunteers with humility and grace. The pastor will help shepherd the body of believers in the development of ministries to reach a lost world, build relationships, and grow their faith as part of the Hamlin family.


Worship Leader

Accountable To: Pastor   

 

Purpose: To serve Hamlin Baptist Church by developing, coordinating, and administering a Spirit-led worship experience, and providing leadership to and supervision of volunteers involved in this ministry.


Hours: 15-20 hours per week


Salary: $15,000 - $20,000; varies by education and experience

 

Qualifications:

  • This leader must be a born-again, Spirit-filled individual who senses the call of God to worship ministry.
  • This leader shall meet each standard put forth in the Baptist Faith and Message.
  • This leader should demonstrate skills as a vocalist (ability to sing and play an instrument would be preferred)


Responsibilities:

  • In cooperation with the pastor, plan weekly worship services including music, creative elements, technical components, and scheduling of team members.
  • Oversee the development of the worship team both in technical ability and spiritual development.
  • Lead weekly rehearsals for music and tech teams in preparation for Sunday services.
  • Print/file music in preparation for rehearsals. Make sure the worship binders are prepared. 
  • Lead music in weekly services on Sunday mornings and other services, as needed, ensuring each song is biblically correct and in alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
  • Be familiar with scheduling and worship programs and maintain subscriptions.
  • Prepare slides for practice and worship.
  • Identify, recruit, train, and equip people to be a part of the worship team and other ministry teams.  
  • Lead choir to assist in worship 3-4 times per year.
  • Recommend replacement or update of equipment, as needed.
  • Establish and follow departmental budgets, as directed by the senior pastor. 
  • Be an active member of the church body by attending a small group and church service(s).
  • All other duties as directed.


Preferred, but not required responsibilities:

  • Coordinate youth & children’s worship.
  • Coordinate the set up and tear down of stage as needed for events held in the sanctuary.
